Designed by James E. Fraser, the Buffalo Nickel was first minted in 1913. The model for the buffalo was Black Diamond, a 1,500-pound bison. It has been determined that the Indian on the obverse side was a composite portrait of three chiefs from different tribes. Included in this set are 10 Buffalo Nickels with different dates assembled in a deluxe display folder designed to hold additional Buffalo Nickels.
Collection I contains ten Buffalo Nickels with mixed dates. Condition is Good to Very Good. Collection II contains 23 Buffalo Nickels with mixed dates. Condition is Good to Very Good. Both collections mounted in their own folder.
