The Eisenhower Dollar was created to honor the Apollo II moon landing and President Dwight D. Eisenhower who died in 1969. Designed by Frank Gasparro, it was minted for only seven years (1971-1978). Regular circulation issues were minted in a copper-nickel clad composition. Special limited mintage collector coins were minted in silver. A special reverse design was added in 1975 and 1976 to celebrate the Bicentennial of Americas independence, along with a duel-dated obverse (1776-1976). Regular issue coins were produced at the Philadelphia and Denver Mints. The special silver coins were minted in San Francisco.
This collection contains 18 Brilliant Uncirculated Eisenhower Dollars. Each coin comes in a clear lucite protective capsule, along a deluxe solid wood display case.
