The Indian Head One-Cent was produced by the U.S. Mint from 1859 to 1909. Designed by James B. Longacre, the obverse of the coin displays the head of a Native American wearing a feather head dress. The word “Liberty” appears on the band of the head dress. The head is surrounded by the words “United States of America.” The coins reverse side displays the words “One Cent” surrounded by a wreath with three arrows. At the top of the wreath, the branches display a shield of the United States. This shield is not present in the 1859 mintage of coins, as it was not in the original design.
This Indian Head Cent collection is sold with thirteen coins, hand selected with dates from 1896-1908. These coins come enclosed in a 4" x 6" display case with a stand-up easel.
