The Bust Quarter Dollar was designed by William Kneass and was minted from 1831-1838 in Philadelphia. The 13 stars represent the 13 colonies. Bust Quarters were struck for only eight years with a total of 4,202,400 pieces produced. Designed by William Kneass, the obverse features Lady Liberty facing left and wearing a mobcap. The reverse displays an eagle which has a Union shield on its breast and is clutching three arrows on the right and an olive branch on the left. "25 C." appears at the bottom of the coin stating its value.
