Morgan Silver Dollar Rolls
1878-S, 1880-S and 1881-S Granite Lady
The San Francisco Mint, known as the "Granite Lady" for its stately granite classic revival architecture, began minting U.S. coins in 1874. It replaced the original San Francisco Mint that had been in operation since 1854. The Granite Lady survived the devastating 1906 earthquake and saved San Francisco from total economic chaos by serving as the financial center for the city. The Morgan Silver Dollar, designed by George T. Morgan, is considered by many to be one of most the most beautiful U.S. coins. This coin was minted from 1878 until 1921.
